. >>> for a look at your weather, let's turn to meteorologist dylan dryer. >> we are actually looking at some pretty strong storms to affect the coast. heavy rain spreading eastward. most of the lightning, we're getting reports of are near the panhandle of florida. that's where this storm system is originating. this area of low pressure drawing in tons of moisture from the gulf of mexico. it is going to be a warm rain across the east coast as the moisture streams in in from the south. look at southeastern ohio across west virginia through west virginia as well and into the western carolinas. this is all moving eastward. as it continues to strengthen through the rest of the morning and into this afternoon, we are actually going to see the potential for a possible severe weather outbreak. right now, though, we're looking at a lot of the lightning across the panhandle of florida. this is all going to continue to move to the north and east. pretty slowly. and the heaviest of the rain is now trying to move into areas across new jersey, stretching back into west virginia too. this rain, again, is g
all of frof fremont' problems. >>> dylan drier has your weather channel forecast. >> try to go back to what i was doing at 18ment some we won't talk about on the broadcast. it wasn't running for anything. >> i definitely wasn't fixing a few problems, i mean not to mention all of the town's problems. so pretty impressive. good luck to him. we are going to see rain in spots across the region in the northeast, through the great lakes, just a few scattered showers. not heavy rain although we do have heavier rain moving into southern missouri, northern arkansas right now and florida, especially southern florida still dealing with more showers and storms, possibly producing pretty strong thunderstorms as we go through the entire day really, it's not just an afternoon type of event. here is that heavier rain, though, in southern missouri that is out ahead of a cold front and it is producing pockets of torrential downpours. we even had some severe thunderstorm warnings issued in that area not that long ago. leer is the heavy rain down across miami, though, through the florida key, as well.

. now for a look at your national weather, here is dylan drier. >> the mamma bear needs to move and we'll find it. the size of a butter stick. that's insane. we're looking at gorgeous weather all across the west coast. there's really not a whole lot going on with high pressure in control, all the activity is through the center of the country and areas across the east coast. so out west you are enjoying sunshine basically from seattle right down into southern california and also into phoenix where it is going to be hot, but seasonably so for this time of year. it is going to be above average in seattle with temperatures up around 80 degrees today. down through san francisco, foggy this morning. the biggest concern will be interior portions of washington state and also oregon where smoke from area wildfires will get trapped and actually make it a little hazy out there. you'll smell the smoke in the air. temps a little cool except for las vegas at about 76 degrees. topping out about 100 degrees this afternoon. looking for the warm temps to continue in oregon and to the fall season as we g

, the commute begins here in new york city. let's get a check of your weather from dylan dreyer. hey, dylan. >> the weather shouldn't affect the commute that much. there are showers and storms falling back through the eastern great lakes. heavier pockets of rain approaching the detroit area. it's not going to last long. most of the activity up in canada. sunshine across most of the country here in the northeast. another crystal clear day. it has that dry fall-like feel as fall gets kicked off on saturday. it's hard to believe. we are looking at chilly temperatures. northern new england had frost and freeze advisories. not much of a rebound near boston. 62 degrees. near washington, d.c., still seasonable. temperatures in the mid-70s. for the rest of the country, we are going to see temperatures staying mostly in the 70s across a good portion of the area exception the northern tooer of the united states stuck in the 60s today and tomorrow as we head into friday, the final day of the week. >> thanks so much. >>> tuesday night, the orioles outlasted the mariners. it lasted 18 innings. one night
dylan dreyer with the weather channel forecast. wait, let me guess, it's gorgeous outside. >> you got it, yep. i mean, we're not looking at a whole lot of anything going on, especially across the entire west coast. we are going to see just a lot of sunshine like we've been seeing a lot of lately. although in the dakotas, we are seeing some fire weather danger still. i mean, we really haven't had a whole lot of rain to speak of, so the ground is dry. we have humidity values down around 20%, so the air is dry, too, and that's why we could see fires basically in the upper plains develop and perhaps spread very quickly. we also had some wildfires out through interior sections of washington state and oregon. so, because of that, things are quiet and we could end up with just smoke getting stuck in the air. so, you, i'm sure, have been noticing it out that way for quite some time, just that smell of smoke in the air. but high pressure's still in control. things are going to remain quiet all across the west coast. little cool in seattle at 51, but warmer at vegas at 76 degrees right now. temper

, we turn to nbc meteorologist dylan drier with a look at the forecast. a very good morning and also welcome. >> thank you very much. it's wonderful to be here. and you know, especially when i can talk about some nice weather. we've got lots of sunshine until tomorrow. we are going to see more showers and pockets of heavier rain start to work into the east coast into tuesday. but for right now, the heaviest of the rain is located across eastern texas, although we will see some improvements through texas as we go into this afternoon, even late morning we will already start to see some improvements out that way. some of this heavier rain falling back through western tennessee, about two to three inches of rain possible in this area. we also have this cold front moving through minneapolis right now. also producing some heavier rain. and it is actually going to drop temperatures significantly. we're looking at much, much colder highs behind this cold front as we go throughout the rest of the week. meantime, high pressure in control all across the northeast for one more day. tomorrow we a
get a check of your weather from dylan dreyer back with us this morning. good morning, dylan. >> good morning to you. it looks pretty right now. but we're talking about a wet day across the east coast. we are going to see about 2 to 3 inches of rain possible. it is now starting to move into the new york city area. we're going to see it spread basically from northern new england all the way into the gulf coast states. we could end up with severe weather later on today as well. the reason it's a cold front moving in. it's streaming in moisture from the gulf of mexico. we have that potential for heavier downpours. it comes with warm air. it's going to be one of those humid feeling days where the rain is just coming down. we are looking for mid to late afternoon is our time frame for more severe storms to develop. we could end up with wind gusts up to 40 to 50 miles per hour across the east coast. we could end up with a chance of isolated tornadoes possible anywhere from western connecticut down through new jersey, down through pennsylvania and also stretching into the capital region as w
